Yamaha's Remote Cheerer app lets fans tap on their devices to support their favorite players

Japanese motorcycles manufacturer Yamaha launches the Remote Cheerer app that is meant to be linked to a stadium’s audio system so that athletes can hear the pre-recorded soundbites as if people were actually in the stands. They performed a field test earlier this month at Japan’s Shizuoka Stadium, with 58 speakers around the outdoor venue and users sending applause and jeers.

The Pensacola Blue Wahoos, the Double-A Southern League affiliate of the Minnesota Twins, placed the Blue Wahoos Stadium on Airbnb for $1,500 per night. The Stadium can accommodate up to 10 guests, that will have access to the Wahoos' newly-renovated clubhouse, a large bedroom, the batting cage and baseball field during their stay.

The Cathedral of Santa Maria del Fiore (Duomo) will use social distancing necklaces for visitors. The EGOpro Active Tag, developed by the Florence-based company Advanced Microwave Engineering, uses radio technology to sense the measure between two tags: the device will flash, vibrate and softly beep when one visitor walks within two metres or 6.5 feet of another.
